YRLS Associations
The five associations organizing the YRLS 2012 meeting

Association des Doctorants et jeunes docteurs de l’Institut Curie (ADIC): created in 1997, the ADIC represents all Master’s degree students, doctoral candidates, postdocs, and young doctors working in the Institut Curie, located rue d’Ulm, Paris. Among other activities, they have initiated the YRLS meeting in 1997.

Association Médecine Pharmacie Sciences (AMPS) : the aim of this newly-created association is mainly to promote the MD-PhD training in French universities and ease networking between all the MD-PhD candidates – who are generally part of either the Ecole de l’INSERM, the ENS or more recently the few universities which offer MD-PhD trainings. Unlike the other organizing parties AMPS members are spread all around France. The AMPS offers the opportunity for those students and PhD candidates to meet up and share their experience, and the YRLS meeting is a great way to do so. Association des doctorants et des jeunes docteurs de l’université Denis Diderot (DiDocs): DiDocs was created in 2009, just after the Denis Diderot university (Paris VII) moved in its new facilities, on the Paris Rive Gauche campus. The association represents all PhD students and Doctors graduate of the université Paris Diderot. This association is multidisciplinary, it brings together all fields represented at the university. The junior researchers from the Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) and UMR Epigenetique et Destin Cellulaire take part of the organization of the meeting. DiDocs is composed in part of people from the former ACDIQ association (specific to the IJM) which participated to the organization of the last three editions of YRLS. They organize social and scientific events, and are pleased to once again participate in the YRLS conference. Contact: spibens@gmail.com
Student and young researcher Association of the Institut Pasteur (StaPa): StaPa represents all the young researchers working in the Institut Pasteur(Paris). Since 2001, they have been organizing every year the Stapa Congress within their walls. In 2010, they have decided to devote their energy to build up this joint edition of the YRLS meeting. The five associations described above share common aims, within their respective institutes :
- Scientific, by organizing meetings (such as the YRLS), workshops, conferences.
- Professional, by promoting contacts between young researchers and scientists working in private companies.
- Social, by helping new PhD candidates or young doctors to settle down, especially when they come from abroad and by organizing frequent happy hours/beer sessions/cheering parties.
