Guidelines 2021

ONLINE REGISTRATION:

Fill out the registration form and checkout via PayPal (no account required) following which you will receive two confirmation emails – one each from YRLS and PayPal. The link to the abstract submission page will be provided in the confirmation email from YRLS.

 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:

Title: Keep the title concise (less than 20 words)

Authors: Please provide authors and co-authors in the following format : Name. Initials (eg : John. D ; Susan. J etc)

Abstract: Provide a 2000 characters (max.) abstract of your research work in english.

We strongly recommend to:

  • Prepare your abstract in a text document/ text editor and copy-paste in the abstract submission page.
  • Proofread and correct your abstract before finalizing your abstract submission.

You can submit your abstract either for a TALK or FLASH TALKS

  • TALK: 10 min of presentation + 5 min of questions. (We accept PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF presentations. Please bring your presentation in a USB key and give it to the organizers on the morning of your   talk session)
  • FLASH TALKS: 3 mins of presentation + 2 mins of questions (please prepare a single slide in PDF format and send it to us in advance)

In the case of duplicate registrations/abstract submissions, only the latest version will be considered. Abstracts are evaluated and graded anonymously based on the clarity, originality, impact and scientific results of the research work.

Due to the limited number of slots for talk sessions, abstracts for TALKS will be ranked based on the evaluations and then selected. Abstracts submitted for a TALK that are not selected will be converted to flash talks if you choose the option during submission.

TOPICS:

For the 2020 edition, each day is represented by a theme covering various disciplines in life sciences as follows:

DAY 1: MICROBES AND HOST RESPONSE

DAY 2: FROM CELLS TO ORGANISMS

DAY 3: SCIENCE AT THE INTERFACE

EVALUATION AND PRIZES:

Prizes for TALK and POSTER will be awarded based on evaluations and grading by a panel of judges (consisting of PIs, senior and junior researchers and post-docs).

TALKS are evaluated based on:

  • Scientific content: Results, originality and response to questions
  • Presentation skills: Quality, clarity and punctuality

FLASH TALKS are evaluated based on:

  • Scientific content: Results, originality and response to questions
  • Presentation skills: Quality, clarity and legibility

REFUND of registration fees will not be possible after May 15th, 2021.
